23 September/October 2015 Pharmaceutical & Medical Packaging News • pmpnews.com "The rebuilding process involves several steps," Klotz says. "Machines first are evaluated either at the customer's site or at Uhlmann's center (Towaco, NJ). Subsequently, the rebuild work uses Uhlmann components (OEM parts), complete with state-of-the-art technology. All components, stations, and functions are tested and verified before the revamped equip- ment is installed at a customer's facility." Klotz says Uhlmann Towaco is the rebuild center for Uhl- mann rebuild equipment worldwide. "Customers including top 20 pharma companies, generics, and contract packers from countries such as Germany, Mex- ico, Egypt, Spain, and many more have purchased OEM rebuild machines from us," he says. Priced against the cost of a comparable new machine, Klotz says customers engaging Uhlmann's Rebuild Packag- ing Systems services can expect to save between 30 and 70 percent, depending on whether a given rebuild is partial or complete. In all cases, Uhlmann promises quick delivery times. "And despite the savings, customers receive the same service and accountability," he says. "Uhlmann takes responsibility for all phases of rebuild projects from initial meeting through machine acceptance and, optionally, services such as installa- tion, training, and validation." Uhlmann says it offers both finished machines ready for quick delivery as well as an inventory of machines that can be configured to a customer's individual needs.
