Powder & Bulk Solids 40 Editor'sSpotlight M a y 2 0 1 4 • Vibrators Vacuum-Mounted Vibrator Series The new vacuum-mounted vibrator series is versatile, safe, durable, and user friendly. It is ideal for applications where a permanent installation is not possible. It mounts to any smooth surface, and works great on wood or aluminum. The pneumatic power en- ables operation in hazard- ous environments and also eliminates destructive and expensive hammering on hoppers. While the single- stage vacuum generator only uses 1.55 scfm air consumption, it is powerful and rids your hopper or bin of the material flow problem. A regulator and controller are sup- plied for adjusting force and frequency of the vibrations, according to your specific materials and application of the product. This product is ideal for concrete forms, refractories, rail car and truck trailer hoppers, plant bins, or any application that demands vibrator portability. The Cleveland Vibrator Co., Cleveland, OH 800-221-3298 www.clevelandvibrator.com Bin Vibrators Improve Material Flow Booth 2015 - Eriez' line of Hi-Vi electromagnetic bin vibrators features 12 AC drive units that improve the flow of hard-to-handle materials deposited into bins, hoppers, and chutes. With their totally enclosed patented mag- netic drive, these bin vibrators can be used for applications ranging from the tiniest hopper to huge bunkers with reinforced heavy steel plate and liners. Hi-Vi's concentrated vibration, with its powerful positive drive in both directions, applies a superior action to bin walls and results in economical, efficient flow of difficult materials. The rugged 70U is the largest of Eriez' "double impact" type vibrators. Built for heavy-duty ap- plications and up to 60-ton bin capacity, this model is ideally suited for use on large hoppers and bunkers that are constructed of heavy plate. Heavy bracing and liners do not affect the vibrating performance of this unit. Other units include: the 60U, operates on the "double impact" principle, producing 7200 vibra- tions per minute from a 60-cycle power supply; the D55P-D55S, a heavy-duty impact model in the medium size range with bin capacity up to 18 tons; and models for light- and medium-duty work, with bin capacity ranging from 5 cubic feet to 6 tons. Eriez, Erie, PA 888-300-3743 www.eriez.com Stik-It Versatile Vibrator Mount Booth 2945 - The Stik-It attaches to most surfaces without the need to weld, drill, or perform other invasive work. The Stik-It temporary vibra- tor mount can be used on all tote and day bins, chutes, intermittent material flow problem areas, experimental/labora- tory settings, including sanitary environ- ments, and as a 'proof-of-concept' tool prior to installing a permanent vibrator mount. The Stik-It vibrator even works on curved surfaces. It uses a powerful venturi air system to create positive suction, tightly securing the vibrator to a structure for high performance and vibration transfer. It can be installed in seconds. Vibco, Wyoming, RI 800-633-0032 www.vibco.com Heavy-Duty Vibrators for Continuous Duty Booth 2419 - These heavy-duty vibrators are rated for continuous duty even at maximum force settings, delivering enhanced reliability and extended service life. The Cougar B Series vibrators minimize accumulation in storage vessels, transfer chutes, dust collectors, and other locations, maintaining throughput and reducing maintenance time required to clear blockages. All models are totally-enclosed, non-vented (TENV) designs with Class H high-temperature windings and enclosures rated IP-66. Already delivering benefits to system operators in cement, coal, and aggregates processing, the units are finding utility in a broad cross-section of applications, including food and pharmaceuticals. Water-tight, dust- tight designs are available in a wide selection of voltages, speeds, force ratings, and frequencies to suit virtually any application, including hazardous locations. Specific models range from 70 lb of centrifugal force output to 16,500 lb, in speed ranges of 850, 1170, 1750, and 3450 RPM. Martin Engineering, Neponset, IL 800-544-2947 www.martin-eng.com VMAX Linear Vibrator Booth 1012 - The VMAX linear vibrator operates with low noise levels and high force outputs, and accommodates the most demanding of applications. Features include special end mounts, dual ports, and a totally enclosed housing. With a state-of-the-art piston design, the VMAX linear vibrator does not require a spring to start and is centrifugally bal- anced, which prolongs the life and increases the force output over conventional models. The vibrator comes in a variety of sizes to suit large and small applications, including vibratory conveying, vibratory compacting, and discharging of either dry or wet difficult-to-handle bulk solids from bins and hop- pers. It can also be used to compact materials when filling containers to achieve maximum space utilization and save shipping costs.
