Powder & Bulk Solids 22 M a y 2 0 1 4 • Feeders Kleen Volumetric Feeder Developed for minors and micros use in the food, pet food, and plastics industries for small-to-medium feed rates, this modular system can be adapted to different upstream sources, such as bag dumps, totes, or bulk bags. Its clean design minimizes surfaces and compo- nents allowing for easy dismantling and cleaning of internal parts. It also offers a robust air purge seal and outboard bearing, and is reversible with a rear drain port for easy product changeovers. Horizon Systems Inc., Lawrence, KS 785-842-1299 www.horizonsystemsinc.com Quick-Clean Feeder Valves Booth 2219 - Engineered specifi- cally for sanitary applications, such as food processing or pharmaceuti- cal processing, Quick-Clean feeder valves reduce cleaning and sanitiz- ing time, and simplify inspections. The feeders can be disassembled, cleaned, and reassembled in 20 min- utes as a result of the RotorRail design. The tool- free system lets you slide out the rotary assembly for full access to all internal surfaces of the housing, without time-consuming disassembly or the concern for accurate rotor re-align- ment. To ensure quality, the stainless steel housings are cast in North America and are CNC-machined to precise tolerances. ACS Valves, Caledonia, ON, Canada 905-765-2004 www.acsvalves.com Weigh Belt for Hard-to-Feed Food Materials The Merrick Model 970N weigh belt feeder can be equipped with custom infeed and discharge conditioning designs to feed hard-to-handle materials such as ber- ries, raisins, granola, and sliced almonds. The infeed that presents material to the belt is a round tube that contains level probes. The round tube infeed pro- motes mass flow and contains level probes to ensure an optimal level of mate- rial in the infeed tube. This avoids compressing the material, which could cause agglomeration or bridging. The material discharge from the 970N belt falls onto a vibratory tray. This tray vibrates the material to move it towards the downstream process. As the material moves down the tray, the avalanch- ing and uneven flow of material from the belt is smoothed out. Merrick Industries Inc., Lynn Haven, FL 850-271-7854 www.merrick-inc.com Double Blade Mass Flow Feeder Booth 1051 - The PEBCO Double Blade Mass Flow Feeder (DBMFLO) provides precise flow rate control of dry bulk and maintains consistent flow rates of bulk materials, even with changes in density and other material properties. The DBMFLO provides true en-masse flow regu- lation. It can be applied under mass flow and non-mass flow storage facilities, and has been successfully applied under silos, bins, unloading hoppers, and open stockpiles. Features include: promotes mass flow; han- dles high material flow rates; feeds center- line of conveyor belt regardless of flow rates; ideal for blending applications; offers up to 10 to 1 turn down ratio on the controllable feed rate; eliminates flush through when filling or emptying bins, hoppers, and silos; totally enclosed for minimal dust emissions; has no vibrating parts; operates at a low noise level; energy efficient; low maintenance and long operational life.
