Phytochem Gets Distribution Deal Phytochem International (Ontario, CA), an importer and distributor of standardized botanical extracts, has become sole North American distributor for Phytotech Pvt. Ltd., an Indian standardized botanical extract manufacturer. Phytotech is most notably the producer of the Garslim Aquasol, a trademarked Garcinia Cambogia extract used in weight management and satiety products. A Grant for OmniActive Health Technologies OmniActive is a supplier of nutraceutical ingredients, including capsaicin, lutein, and zeaxanthin. "Our government recognizes the contribution innovative companies like OmniActive Health Technologies make in helping to create jobs in our region," said Te Honourable Gail Shea, Minister of Fisheries and Oceans. "Tis company is working towards providing an innovative, value-added service to its customers and to strengthening our local economy." Te grant, combined with an earlier National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program (NRC-IRAP) fnancial contribution, will enable OmniActive to build on the outcomes of the R&D eforts supported by NRC-IRAP. According to the company, the funding will support OmniActive's weight management platform. "OmniActive Health Technologies is very pleased with the support provided by ACOA and NRC-IRAP," said Jayant Deshpande, PhD, chief technical ofcer for OmniActive. "Funds provided by these federal agencies will help to accelerate discovery and commercialization of innovative products."
